Dora Williams Family

Mildred was such a sweet lady and friend to our late mother, Dora Williams. We always enjoyed visiting with her, at the dining room table, whenever it was time for them to gather. She was a legend at Shirkey’s because of her vibrant and energetic manner and will certainly be missed.
Robert Williams

Growing up just a few doors down from Ms. Brazeal I was saddened to see that she had passed away. She would always tell me if I would carry her grocery bags to her house she’d give me a quarter. So when we walked back from what was then Hall’s Grocery at the time and then to her house, she would hand me that quarter and would tell me to spend it wisely. Once I graduated from Orrick, I lost contact with her, but then found her new home at Shirkey’s. My husband and I go there on occassion to see his grandparents that are there and I would always go down the other hall to see what she was up to. She always said that she remembered me, but with her eyesight not doing so well I would have to get right down to her face to say hello. I use to think of her as a grandma that was just down the street, she would be sitting on that porch swing in the evening watching us kids catch fireflies. I do have one precious picture of her and it was taken just 4 years ago. It is of her holding my infant son Jasyn during Christmastime. I will treasure it always. To the family I give you my deepest sympathy, she was a wonderful woman and I’m glad that she was part of my life growing up in the wonderful little small town of Orrick.
