Teddy L. Bishop

December 14, 1954 – February 12, 2011

Teddy L. Bishop, 56, of Overland Park, Kans., formerly of Orrick, Mo., died Feb. 12, 2011 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

Teddy was born on December 14, 1954 in Kingsport, Tenn., to John Watson and Thelma Bishop. He owned and operated Master Rebuilders Construction Company in Overland Park, Kans., for the past 25 years. Teddy enjoyed fishing, boating and spending time at his lake house in Warsaw, Mo. His favorite thing to do was spend time with his grandchildren and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Richard Brown, and a grandson, Erik Peery.

Survivors include his son, Todd Bishop and wife, Dana, of Independence, Mo.; a daughter, Kendra Peery of Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Wanda Gamble and Debbie Howe, both of Richmond, Mo.; his former wife, Debbie Bishop of Kansas City, Mo.; and his companion, Carol Shaw of Overland Park, Kans.; his grandchildren, Taylor Handley and Ryan Bishop, both of Independence, Mo.; a nephew, Richard Brown; and his faithful dog, Molly.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Gowing Chapel, with funeral services following at 8 p.m. in the Chapel. Cremation will follow the services.

Memorials are suggested to the Teddy Bishop Memorial Fund in care of his family and may be left at the funeral home.
