November 10, 1942 – August 1, 2010

Jerrie Ann Christian, 67, of rural Orrick, Mo., passed away Sunday, August 1, 2010 at Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond.

Jerrie was born on November 10, 1942 in Kansas City, Mo., to Cecil and Barbara (Hyder) Greer.

She was a graduate of Paseo High School in Kansas City with the class of 1960. She had worked as a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell in Kansas City for a number of years.

On April 12, 1968 she was united in marriage to Jerry Christian. For the past 40 years she and her family have resided in the Orrick area.

Jerrie was devoted to her family, especially her husband, children , grandchildren and great grandchild.

She was the family caregiver making herself available to help those in her family. She was an avid Chiefs and Royals fan as she loved baseball and football. She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings.

Survivors include her husband of 42 years, Jerry Christian of the home; two sons, John Christian of Gladstone, Mo., and Eric Christian and wife, Mary Beth, of Washington, Ill.; a daughter, Jennifer McKiddy and husband, Todd, of Kansas City, Mo.; six grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010 at the Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick. Graveside services will be Thursday morning at 10 a.m. at South Point Cemetery near Orrick.
