Vera Lee Greer, 87, of Marionville, Mo., died December 16, 2018 at the Ray County Memorial Hospital in Richmond, Mo.
Vera was born on March 2, 1931 in the Roosterville area of Clay County, Missouri, to Shirley Hannah and Lola Addie (Gordon) Hannah. She was united in marriage in 1972 to William E. Greer. He preceded her in death in 2003.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Aurora, Mo. Vera loved her children and would fight the devil himself for them. She enjoyed farm life and watching westerns on television. She was an avid fisherman in her younger days. Her favorite saying was “Horse Feathers” when she wanted to make a point.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, William E. Greer, one sister and five brothers.
She is survived by three sons, Mike Warner of Richmond, Mo., Harril Luman and wife Eva of Richmond, Mo., and Doug Luman and wife Clara of Stockton, Mo.; daughter, Sharon Joy Lee of Marionville, Mo.; brother, Ron Hannah of Ava, Mo.; and sister, Bonnie Broughton of Claycomo, Mo. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, December 20, 2018 at the Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at South Point Cemetery near Orrick.
