Anna Mae Jennings

Anna Mae Jennings of Orrick, MO, was 86 years young when she passed of natural causes on May 6, 2022 at home in Orrick surrounded by family and loved ones. Anna was born on April 13, 1936 to Allen Oliphant and Goldie (Dodson) Oliphant in Manes, Missouri.

Anna attended school in Mountain Grove, MO, where she played on an all-boys baseball team as a first basemen from 1952-1954, breaking the glass ceiling before there was one! Shortly after graduating she married the love of her life, Navy Serviceman Wayne LaVon Jennings, on May 7, 1955 in Albion, Michigan. In 1968, they moved from Kansas City to Orrick. Together, they had six children, twins Patricia and Shirley who were prematurely lost, Larry Wayne (Suzy) Jennings, Connie Sue Jennings Crump, Sonja Renee Jennings Robinson, and Troy LaVon (Jennifer) Jennings.

Anna was such a loving housewife and mother. Outside her home, she worked at Lee-Wald as seamstress in Kansas City, MO, and at Whitaker Cable in Excelsior Springs, MO, where she was involved in the Union. She was also a member of the Eastern Star and the First Baptist Church of Orrick much of her life. She loved to quilt, garden, cook, and spend time with her family!

Anna was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne; three children, Patricia, Shirley, and Connie; her mother and father; seven brothers; two sisters; one son-in-law and one great grandchild.

Anna is survived by her children, Larry (Suzy), Sonja, and Troy (Jennifer); and her grandchildren, Scott Travis (Shawn) Wright, Allison Renee (Dave) Alfano, Brandon Wayne Jennings, Shanda LeAnn (Chris) Watson, Annthia Marie (Reggie) Teagues, Vickie Sue Thompson, Joseph Aaron (Kristen) Kaufman, Christopher Joseph Bukaty Jr., Jacob LaVon Jennings (Jessica Edmiston), and Karly Sophia Jennings; as well as 13 great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren! She was, is, and always will be so loved by these and many others.

Two memorial services will be held in Anna’s honor. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at Gowing Funeral Home, 202 Adams Street, Orrick, MO from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., and a traditional service will take place on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the First Baptist Church of Orrick, 301 Adams Street, Orrick, MO, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Southpoint Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Hospice or the Southpoint Cemetery Association.

Sean Steven Buchanan

Sean Steven Buchanan, Orrick, MO, was 52 years old when he died of a motorcycle accident on April 30.  He was born on March 13, 1970, to Patricia and Michael Buchanan.

Sean graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 1988.  He is a Marine Corps Veteran who proudly served this country.  A self-taught stone carver, Sean worked on many stone restoration projects including the Kansas State Capitol restoration and the Leavenworth Riverfront Restoration projects.  He was an avid reader, researcher, and debater.

He married Linda Allen on October 9, 1999, in Lake Tahoe, CA.

Sean was preceded in death by his father, Michael Buchanan and father-in-law, Charles Allen.

Sean is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Blake; parents, Pat and Gary Cundiff; a brother, Scott (Melissa) Buchanan; mother-in-law, Carolyn Allen; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen and Mike Neese; nephews, Doug (Jen), Brad (Taylor), and great-niece, Kaitlin; cousin, Shelley King; and many other relatives.

His favorite thing to do was to watch and support Blake.  He was so proud of and excited for Blake to start college at Benedictine this fall.  He loved his fantasy football league and the witty smack talk that went with it, the Kansas Jayhawks, and Kansas City Chiefs.

His sarcastic sense of humor will be missed by many.  He was the family’s protector and loved them with no bounds.

A memorial service in his honor will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. with visitation from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Gowing Funeral Home, 202 Adams Street, Orrick, MO.  Military Honors following.  In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions will be used for Blake Buchanan’s Education Fund and should be made payable to Linda Buchanan and left at Gowing Funeral Home.

Donald Raymond Clevenger

Donald Raymond Clevenger, 83, of Odessa, Texas, went to be with the Lord his Savior on February 19, 2022 with his family by his side.

He was born to the late Raymond “Cotton” Clevenger and Flossie (McAfee) Clevenger on September 21, 1938 in Floyd, Mo., in a section house of the railroad. Donald attended High School in Bonner Springs, Kans., and graduated in 1956. Shortly after graduating he followed in his family’s footsteps and went to work for the Santa Fe Railroad until he enlisted in the U.S. Navy on November 10, 1958, where he became a Radio Operator in the Submarine Service. While serving his country he continued his education and earned several degrees from Grossmont College, Pepperdine University, and Chaminade University. While stationed in Hawaii he retired from the U.S. Navy on June 18, 1979, but remained in the Naval Reserve for a few more years.

He moved his family to Odessa, Texas, where he worked for South West Energy until 1992. He moved back to Orrick, Mo., in 2003, where he would occasionally work as a bank courier. In 2016, he moved back to Odessa, Texas, to be closer to his son as he needed help with everyday life. One of his passions in life was to fish, he also enjoyed traveling, reading, watching baseball and football, and loved to talk about his days in the Navy where he got to see the world.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Flossie Clevenger; sister, Phyllis Clevenger; and
brother, Farris Dee Clevenger.

He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Simpfenderfer (Lane); son, Donald Clevenger Jr. (Lisa); daughter, Krista Clevenger; grandchildren, Amy Collins (Josh), Michael Braithwaite (Chonny), Ashley Miller, Brandon Moore (Amber), Jacob Maynard, Raymond Braithwaite, Cody Maynard, Matthew Braithwaite, Jeanie Smith, and Kevin Smith; great grandchildren, Tanya Eilers, Austin Miller, Brayden Braithwaite, Taije Collins, Ty Braithwaite, Andyn Miller, Caiden Maynard, Brayleigh Braithwaite, Eva Smith, Braxley Moore, Brekyn Braithwaite, Aesir Maynard and Jacob Maynard Jr.; brother, Kenny Clevenger; sister, Neva (Clevenger) Randall; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Don was an amazing man who was very proud of his family and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories.

Memorial Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 29, 2022 at Union Baptist Cemetery near Orrick, Mo., with Rev. Ed Birdsong officiating. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Navy and the Ray County Veterans American Legion Post # 237.

Mary Roush

Mary Roush, 82, of Missouri City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022.

Mary Roush is survived by her two sons, Ronnie Roush and Donnie Roush and one daughter, Connie Mathis; three sisters, Lue Schriever, Georgie Fry and Deanna Potts. She is also survived  by her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

She will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Gowing Funeral Home, 202 Adams Street, Orrick, MO, on Friday, April 29, 2022 at 5:00 p.m., with a Memorial service following at 6:00 p.m.

Vinetta Ann (Loyd) Garnett

March 10, 1960 ~ March 14, 2022

Vinetta Ann (Loyd) Garnett, 62, of Orrick, MO, passed away Monday, March 14, 2022 at Ray County Memorial Hospital. Vinetta was born on March 10, 1960 in Kansas City, MO, to William Eldred and Betty JoAnn (Huffman) Loyd. Vinetta worked and retired from Commerce Bank in downtown Kansas City.  Vinetta was united in marriage on July 3, 1989 to Robert “Bob” Garnett, of nearly 23 years where she nick named herself the “Evil Wicked Step-Mother”, he preceded her in death.

Vinetta is also preceded in death by her loving parents and her big brother, Joseph Loyd.

Vinetta loved traveling, fishing, riding her bike, quilting and being with her many, many friends that she made while doing the things she loved.

Survivors include her loving companion, Donnie Wilson of the home; the “Good Child” Susanne Mathews of Florence, MO, the “Lost Child” Darin Savage of Warrensburg, MO, and the “Wild Child” Tammy Garnett of Centerview, MO; 10 grandchildren, Amanda (Josh) Jeffers, Brandon (Amber) Wilson, Trevor Mathews, Mason Mathews, Anthony Savage, Ashton Savage, Austin Savage, Jayme Savage, Zachery Parcel and Haley Parcel.

Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. with Memorial Services following at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2022 at Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick, MO.

Laticia May Hedrick

Laticia May Hedrick, age 82, of rural Camden, MO, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2022 at North Kansas City Hospital.  Laticia was born on October 25, 1939 to William R. Smith and Lydia (Bellis) Smith. She had lived most of her life in the Camden and Orrick areas.  Laticia was a graduate of Orrick High School. Following high school, she attended a business college.  Laticia was united in marriage to Norman Keith Hedrick. She was very involved in her community and an active member of the Orrick Christian Church.

Laticia was a very caring person and always found the time to take care of others including her family, her friends, and people in the community. She enjoyed cooking, especially cooking for the holidays and for family get togethers. She enjoyed her hobbies which included participating in Red Hatters and playing card games such as Pitch and Bridge, collecting antiques with her sister, and reading books. She valued and cherished time spent with her two sons. She loved attending their sporting events when they were younger and loved her time when they came to help her at the farm. She also loved and adored her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Laticia was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lydia Smith, and her husband, Norman Keith Hedrick.

She is survived by her two sons, William Keith Hedrick of Blue Springs, MO, and Michael James Hedrick (Kim) of Kansas City, MO; a sister, Alicia Harrison of Orrick, MO; her loving grandchildren, Jennifer Hedrick, Christine Wilkins (Cameron), Charli Fainter (Eric), and Stephanie Kline (John). She is also survived by six great grandchildren, Thomas, Brynlee, Quinn, Mckenna, Aiden and Amelia; a niece, Patty Raimondi (Roberto), and her three sons, Marco, Carlos and Jonas; and also a nephew, Charles Harrison.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick. Services will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Art Endslely officiating. Burial will follow in South Point Cemetery near Orrick.

Ritchie Moyer Vick

May 3, 1949 ~ February 28, 2022

Ritchie Moyer Vick, 72, of Orrick, MO, passed away on February 28, 2022. Ritchie was born on May 3, 1949 in Excelsior Springs, MO, to John Vick and Virginia (Moyer) Vick. In his early years he lived in the Millville area and then moved to Richmond, MO.

He moved to Orrick when he married Sally (Gooch) Vick in 1976, she survives of the home. He is also survived by his children, Daniel Vick (Carla), Nathan Vick (Nichole), and Becky Vick; granddaughters, Kyndal Vick, Ellie Alexander, Jordyn Vick, and Amelia Vick; brothers, Mel Vick, Wesley Vick, John Vick, and sister, Ann Vick.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, J.P. Vick.

He served in the U.S. Army. If you wanted to find Ritchie, you could find him either at the farm, a basketball game or an auction, he loved collecting “treasures”.  He enjoyed volunteering his time at all Orrick Bearcat sporting events.

We will be celebrating Ritchie’s life on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 2 to 5 p.m. at The Home Place at Valley View. The address is 35920 West Highway T, Camden, MO 64017.

Chelsea Rhenea Martin

Chelsea Rhenea Martin, 30, was born August 10, 1991 at 3:36 p.m. to Janie Rose Harrington and Larry Martin Jr. Chelsea was raised by her mother, Janie Senciboy, and father, Gordon Senciboy.

Chelsea was fun loving, silly and loved to laugh.  Chelsea had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone.  Chelsea has left this world way too soon and will be forever missed.

Chelsea leaves behind four children, Lolli “Max” Wayman, 12, Colt Wayman, 11, Zaylee Martin, 7, and Emrick Perryman, 4.  Chelsea also leaves behind her parents, Janie and Gordon Senciboy of Excelsior Springs, MO, and Larry Martin of Harrington, KS; six sisters, LaDonna Lawson (Keith) of Excelsior Springs, Ashley Vannattan (Rocky) of Richmond, Crystie Holsey (Luke) of Excelsior Springs, Melissa Simmons (Chris) of Orrick, Holli Smith (Brady) of Platte City, and Brooklyn Senciboy (Justin) of Excelsior Springs; and 13 nieces and nephews.  She is also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Wanda Lucille Hupp-Rone

October 9, 1932 ~ February 5, 2022

Wanda Lucille Hupp-Rone, 89, of Richmond, MO, formerly of Orrick, MO, passed away Saturday morning, February 5, 2022 at the Ray County Memorial Hospital.

Wanda was born on October 9,1932 in Hardin, MO, to Bill and Alvinia Witte. She and her family moved to and lived in Kansas, where Wanda attended school and graduated from Berryton High School in Berryton, KS. Wanda was first married to Thomas A. Hupp and with her marriage to him she was blessed with three children, William, Nancy and Janet Hupp. The family lived in Kansas and later moved to Missouri. Wanda worked at Whitaker Cable. After Thomas passed, she moved to Oregon and married Fowler David Rone. While in Oregon, she worked for in home care and support services for 18 years. Wanda was a charter member of Riverside 4-H club in Kansas, The Moose Lodge and American Legion Auxillary. She had also served on the Orrick city council.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Alvinia Witte; her husbands, Thomas A. Hupp and Fowler David Rone; sisters, Mildred Doud and Sylvia Palenske; her son, William (Bill) Hupp and daughter, Nancy Pearon; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Hupp; mother- in-law, Pearl (Dent) Coffman; and father-in-law, Glen Hupp.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Hupp of Richmond, MO; sisters, Shirlely Weideman and Darlene Holiday; sister-in-law, Rosella Hupp; son-in-law, Terry Pearon; step-daughter, Cookie (Elizabeth and Junior); and many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Wanda will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Lutheran Church in Richmond, MO. Burial will follow in South Point Cemetery near Orrick.

Timothy Ray Bramble

November 17,1967 ~ January 21, 2022

Timothy Ray Bramble, 54, of Orrick, MO, formerly of Birmingham, MO, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loving family.

Timothy was born in Birmingham, MO, on November 17, 1967 to Charles Edward Bramble and Barbara Gene Bramble. He was raised in the Birmingham area. On June 2, 2018 he was united in marriage to Angela Michelle Anderson. Timothy and Angela moved to Orrick, MO, in 2019. Timothy was an amazing person. He was very loving, kind and free spirited; he would literally give a stranger the shirt off his back.

Timothy was a millwright and was a member of Millwright Union 1529 in Kansas City, MO. He was an excellent welder and fabricator.

Timothy loved to ride and build motorcycles. He always had the desire to travel the world. He an Angela visited 26 states on a motorcycle. Timothy loved his family and enjoyed his time spent with them (including his wiener dogs, Lucy and Curly).

He was preceded in death by his mother, Barbara Gene Bramble; aunt, Judy Vanlandingham; and a grandson, Tanner Joe Harp.

He is survived by his wife, Angela Bramble of the home in Orrick, MO; his children, Nathan Bramble (Megan) of Kansas City, MO, Charlisa Spragg (Bryan) of Birmingham, MO, and Dylan Ziegler “Bramble” of San Antonio, Texas; and three step kids, Tamara Harp (Samuel) of Cameron, MO, Crecia Armstrong of Kansas City, MO, and Micheal Armstrong of Knob Noster, MO; his father, Charles Bramble of Birmingham, MO; a brother, Tracy Bramble (Mary) of Birmingham, MO; his mother-in-law, Karolyn Watson of Warrensburg, MO; a brother-in-law, Mike Anderson (Cindy) of Liberty, MO; and a sister-in-law, Sonya Mendez (Reggie) of Warrensburg, MO. He is also survived by his 16 grandchildren as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.

The family will greet friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12 p.m., January 29, 2022 at the Birmingham Baptist Church. Memorial services will follow at 12 p.m., also at the church. And a celebration of life will take place at 2 p.m. at the Birmingham Community Center.
