Sean Steven Buchanan

Sean Steven Buchanan, Orrick, MO, was 52 years old when he died of a motorcycle accident on April 30.  He was born on March 13, 1970, to Patricia and Michael Buchanan.

Sean graduated from Shawnee Mission West High School in 1988.  He is a Marine Corps Veteran who proudly served this country.  A self-taught stone carver, Sean worked on many stone restoration projects including the Kansas State Capitol restoration and the Leavenworth Riverfront Restoration projects.  He was an avid reader, researcher, and debater.

He married Linda Allen on October 9, 1999, in Lake Tahoe, CA.

Sean was preceded in death by his father, Michael Buchanan and father-in-law, Charles Allen.

Sean is survived by his wife, Linda; son, Blake; parents, Pat and Gary Cundiff; a brother, Scott (Melissa) Buchanan; mother-in-law, Carolyn Allen; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Karen and Mike Neese; nephews, Doug (Jen), Brad (Taylor), and great-niece, Kaitlin; cousin, Shelley King; and many other relatives.

His favorite thing to do was to watch and support Blake.  He was so proud of and excited for Blake to start college at Benedictine this fall.  He loved his fantasy football league and the witty smack talk that went with it, the Kansas Jayhawks, and Kansas City Chiefs.

His sarcastic sense of humor will be missed by many.  He was the family’s protector and loved them with no bounds.

A memorial service in his honor will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. with visitation from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at Gowing Funeral Home, 202 Adams Street, Orrick, MO.  Military Honors following.  In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions will be used for Blake Buchanan’s Education Fund and should be made payable to Linda Buchanan and left at Gowing Funeral Home.
