Ruby Fern (Coleman) Lee, 80, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., formerly of Orrick, passed away at 8:10 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at the Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Ruby was born on August 22, 1931 in Orrick, Mo., to Virgil “Toots” Coleman and Emma (Swiggert) Coleman. She had lived most of her life in the Orrick area before moving to Excelsior Springs in 1993. Ruby attended schools in Orrick and attended church at the Orrick Baptist Church. Ruby was a homemaker. She was united in marriage to Benjamin Lee of Camden, who preceded her in death.
Ruby was also preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Emma Coleman, a daughter, Patricia Gardner, and two brothers, Cecil “Red” O’Conner and Lonnie O’Conner.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Keith Coleman and wife, Kathy, of Excelsior Springs, Mo., a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie Dial and husband, Bob, of Lexington, Mo. A brother and sister-in-law, Raymond Coleman and wife, Martha. and a sister, Dorothy Wilson, all of Excelsior Springs, Mo.
Ruby will be cremated with private services to be announced at a later date. The family request no flowers and request memorials be given to either the Excelsior Springs Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 1003 Meadowlark Lane, Excelsior Springs, MO 64024 or Vitas Hospice, 4041 South Lynn Court Drive, Suite 300, Independence, MO 64055.

I’m sorry to hear of Ruby’s passing had not seen her in years. She was a sweet lady, heart of gold. She would make me and Robby laugh when we would take her and Emma for rides in the bottoms. She woll be sadly missed. God bless the family, our thoughts and prayers are with you.
