Pamela Jean Cantrell

June 21, 1955 – May 27, 2012

Pamela Jean Cantrell, 57 of Excelsior Springs, Mo., passed away Sunday, May 27, 2012 at her home.

She was born on June 21, 1955 in Kansas City, Mo., to Huey and Vera Williams. She had lived most of her life in the metropolitan Kansas City area. Pamela had worked as a domestic housekeeper for Access Cleaning for the past eight years.

Due to her being part Cherokee Indian, she was involved with Indian culture, especially the Cherokee and Blackfoot tribes. She also was involved with programs for the prevention of child abuse. Pamela was especially devoted to her family.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Vera Williams in 2010.

Pamela is survived by a daughter, Tasha Cantrell of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; her father, Huey Williams of Orrick, Mo.; and four brothers, Glenn Welch of Kansas City, Mo., Bruce Welch of Urbana, Mo., Melvin Williams of Kansas City, Mo., and Ronnie Williams of Orrick, Mo.; one grandson, Brandon Cantrell of Excelsior Springs, Mo.; and a special family friend, Joseph Newsome of Richmond, Mo.

The family will greet friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday evening, May 31, 2012 at the Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick with funeral services following at 7:30 p.m. also at the funeral home. Cremation will follow services. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Pamela Jean Cantrell Memorial Fund in care of her family.
