Jack W. Clark, 87, Kansas City, Mo., passed away in his sleep June 23, 2012 at St. Luke’s North Hospital.
Jack was a W.W.II Navy veteran aboard the U.S.S. Pelias and U.S.S. La Grange. He saw action in the South Pacific in the battle of Leyte Gulf. He survived a kamikaze attack on the U.S.S. La Grange due to him viewing the “Flying Tigers Picture Show” at Studio Number 4. He was retired from the General Motors Fairfax Plant after 35 years in 1981. Jack enjoyed in his retirement garage selling, antiquing, and fish fries.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Clark.
He is survived by his son, Mark Clark, daughter, Jeanette Shannon, five grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Military graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday , June 25, 2012 at Union Cemetery, Orrick, Mo.
