William Jay “Bill” Kinne, Jr., 68, of Lowry City, Mo., died August 18, 2015 at Vitas Hospice House in Kansas City, Mo. Bill was born on October 4, 1946 in Maywood, Calif., to William Jay Kinne and Bessie Maud (Wood) Kinne.
Bill served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had worked as a mechanic for many years for KCR-International Trucklines in Kansas City, Mo. He had also worked at US By Products Co. in Henrietta, Mo., J.C. Landscaping in Kearney, Mo., Comet Industries in Kansas City, Mo., and Whistle Concrete Co. in Pleasant Hill, Mo. He was of the Christian faith.
Bill was united in marriage to Georgia Reichling on May 25, 1996, who survives him at the home.
Bill loved hunting, fishing and running trout lines. He enjoyed his guns and taking care of them. He especially enjoyed time spent with his family and attending family gatherings.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Terry Shoemaker in 2010, a sister, Sarah McConnel, and a grandson, Christopher Guthrie.
Bill is survived by his wife, Georgia Kinne of the home; his children, William J. Kinne III of Los Angeles, Calif., Richard Shawn Kinne of Knoxville, Mo., Jerry Lee Gaulden (Beverly) of Richmond, Mo., Burt L. Mace of Lowry City, Mo., Misty L. Coles (Chris) and Dixie L. Shelton (Marcus), all of Orrick, Mo., Iva J. Elliott of Richmond, Mo., Gail Watkins of Orrick, Mo., Susie Lafavor of Lathrop, Mo., Lori Mace of Hardin, Mo., Crystal Tharnish (Troy) of Ft. Riley, Kans., Beth True of Excelsior Springs, Mo., and Angelia Shoemaker of Orrick, Mo.; a sister, Janie Melton of Pensacola, Fla.; 25 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
The family will greet friends from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. Friday, August 21, 2015 at the Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick, Mo., with funeral services following at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Mr. Bill Hensley officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at South Point Cemetery near Orrick.
