Troy Thomas Hufford, 51, of Richmond, Mo., formerly of Orrick, Mo., died Sunday morning, April 8, 2018 at North Kansas City Hospital.
Troy was born on November 7, 1966 in Kansas City, Mo., to Billy Frank Hufford, Sr., and
Pearline Faye (Ellis) Hufford. Troy lived in Excelsior Springs and attended schools there before he moved to Orrick. He worked for various construction companies in the area as a carpenter and a brick layer. He had worked for a number of years for the City of Orrick in the Water Department and Street Department. He also was the maintenance man for the Orrick Senior Housing Authority for several years. He was united in marriage to Alissa Woods of Orrick on September 19, 1987. After leaving Orrick, Troy lived in Sedalia, Mo., before moving to Richmond earlier this year.
Troy loved building model cars and woodworking. He was a man of many talents and was able to fix just about anything that needed fixed. He was an avid history buff, and especially liked reading about The Titanic Shipwreck and about World War II.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Fred and Augusta Ellis and his paternal grandparents, Francis and Lucille Hufford.
Troy is survived by his wife, Alissa Hufford of Henrietta, Mo.; his parents, Billy Frank Hufford, Sr., and Pearline Hufford of Warsaw, Mo.; his daughters, Maria Elise Hufford, Katelyn Danielle Hufford, Samantha Elizabeth Hufford, Rebecca Lynn Hufford, all of Richmond, Mo.; brothers, Billy Frank Hufford, Jr. (Deanna) of Orrick, Mo., Donald Eugene Hufford (Ashly) of Warsaw, Mo., Howard Frank Hufford (Dalonna) of Elk City, Okla., Herschel Wayne Hufford (Janet) of Warsaw, Mo., and Richard Shawn Francis Hufford (Dee) of Lathrop, Mo.; and sister, Lisa Showalter (Philip) of Breckenridge, Mo. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
It was Troy’s request that he be cremated. Visitation for the family will be held on Wednesday evening, April 11, 2018 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. at Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick. Memorial funeral services will follow visitation at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Pierson officiating.
