Scott Monroe Franklin

1978 – 2008

Scott Monroe Franklin was born on December 7, 1978 in Pontiac, Illinois, the son of Ernie and Sandra (Headley) Franklin. Scott passed away on November 6, 2008 at North Kansas City Hospital, North Kansas City, Mo. He was 29 years old and had most recently been living in Smithville, Mo. Scott had attended the Orrick School District and also Winnetonka High School, Kansas City, Mo. He had received his GED from Job Corps. Scott enjoyed playing video games, movies and comic books. He was an avid reader and also loved to collect “The Simpsons” memorabilia. Scott loved all kinds of music and had always had a great sense of humor. He seemed to always have the perfect “quick comeback.” He was a loving son and brother.

Scott is survived by his father, Ernie Franklin, of Claycomo, Mo., and his mother, Sandy (Headley) Franklin, of Orrick, Mo. He is also survived by his brother, James Lemmons, and nephew, Adam Lemmons, both of Orrick, Mo. He is survived by two aunts; Marcia Baum, Bloomingtom, Ill., and Linda Kauzlarich, Orrick, Mo.; four uncles, Dale Carter, Orrick, Mo., Ronnie Carter, Pontiac Ill., Richard Headley, Texas, and Donnie Franklin, Claycomo, Mo. He leaves five cousins, Kristopher Carter, Orrick, Mo., Dawn and Andy Barth, Bloomington, Ill., John Franklin, Claycomo, Mo., and Kala Carter, of Pontiac, Ill.

It was the family’s desire that a Gathering of Friends and Family be held on Wednesday, November, 12, 2008 at the Gowing Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Cremation
Burial of Cremains will be held at a later date in Chenoa Cemetery, Chenoa, Ill.

The family has suggested that Memorial Donations in Scott’s name be made to your local Salvation Army.

Condolences

You all have our deepest sympathy at this time. Scott spent many hours at our home in Orrick playing with our children. We lived behind you all on Front St. during the late 1980’s. May you have the peace and comfort of God to help each of you during your grieving period. I pray you have only good memories to comfort you.
