1927 – 2009
Mrs. Mary Jane Joiner, 83, of Orrick, Mo., formerly of Kansas City, died Thursday, July 2, 2009 at the Northland Long Term Acute Care Hospital in Kansas City.
Mary was born on May 5, 1927 in Roseland, Florida, to Willie and Madge (Dills) Patton. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Southside Optimist Club in Kansas City. She was an avid Bingo player and loved to travel. She was united in marriage to Elmer Lee Joiner, Jr. and lived in Kansas City until his death last year.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer Lee Joiner, Jr on April 7, 2008; a grandson, James Stevens on June 21, 2008; three brothers, Allen, John and Tommy Patton; one niece and two nephews.
Survivors include her children; Paul Tipton (Joyce), of Richlands, N.C., Harry Tipton (Tami), of Roseland, Florida, Terri Honn, of Independence, Mo., and Vickie Wright (Larry), of Orrick, Mo.; a sister; Ann Agent, of California; and four brothers, Harry, Bert, Troy and Melvin Patton ( Bobbi), all of Florida; nine grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, at the Gowing Chapel in Orrick. Burial in South Point Cemetery near Orrick. The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gowing Funeral Home.
