February 19, 1941 ~ December 11, 2023

Judith Ann Loyd, 82, of rural Orrick, MO, passed away December 11, 2023 at the Aspire Nursing Center in Excelsior Springs, MO.  Judith was born on February 19, 1941 to John Stephens and Jesse Ruth Dovenspike. On May 24, 1958, she was united in marriage to Bobby G. Loyd. He preceded her in death in July of 2016.

On top of being a mother and homemaker, Judith worked outside the home as a production worker for Whittaker Cable Corp. in Excelsior Springs. Judith loved drinking her coffee, especially with her sister. She loved soap operas and she loved to play bingo and go to the boats. Judith was very good at cooking and enjoyed cooking and being with her kids and grandkids as much as she could. She also loved her dog, Daisy.  Judith was particular about keeping her yard clean and mowed. She always had a pretty lawn.

Judith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby G. Loyd in July of 2016; her brothers, John, Allen and Roy Stephens; and sisters, Mary Nichols, Betty Reyburn, and Shirley Warren.

Judy is survived by her daughters, Sharon McAdams (Russ) and Tammy O’Dell (Mark), all of Excelsior Springs, MO; sons, Robert Loyd (Linda) and David Loyd, all of Orrick, MO. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Visitation for Judith will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 12 noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick. Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. Monday, also at the funeral home. Burial will be at the New Hope Cemetery Southwest of Richmond, MO.
