John M. Hoyle, 81, of Orrick, Mo., went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at North Kansas City Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
John was born on March 2, 1938 in Kansas City, Kans., to Cecil M. Hoyle and Marguerite Grace (Clark) Hoyle. John had served his country in the United States Navy of which he was honorably discharged. He was united in marriage to Barbara F. Tester on June 13, 1959, and she survives at the home. John and Barbara moved to Orrick 54 years ago.
He had worked as an oiler for the Archer Daniels Midland Company Mill in North Kansas City for 37 years, and retired from his duties there in 2000.
John enjoyed raising roses and tending to his garden, tending to his little farm, bee keeping and worshiping God. He enjoyed time spent with his family, especially the kids and grandchildren and great grandchildren. John had a strong faith and attended church at Richmond Assembly of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Pharis Leo “Bud” Hoyle; and a nephew, Danny Hoyle.
Survivors include his wife of over 59 years, Barbara F. Hoyle of the home; his children,
Joan L. Barton (Glen) and John W. Hoyle (Jean) all of Orrick, Mo., and Scott L. Hoyle (Sandi) of Jesup, Ga.; grandchildren, Serenity Tarr, Jennifer Martin, Jeffrey Williams, John Philip Hoyle, Whitney Wartenbee, Justin Hoyle, Amanda Smith, and Amy Gardner; great grandchildren, Landon, Laura, Kennedy, Jadelynn, Noah, Jaycee, Tucker, Isaiah, Leighton, Karlee, Gabriel, Jonah, Paisley, and another one on the way.
Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12 noon, Saturday, April 6, 2019 at the Richmond Assembly of God Church in Richmond, Mo. Funeral services will follow at 12 noon at the church with the Rev. John Selleck and Mr. Ed Birdsong officiating. Burial, with full military honors by Ray County Veterans Group, will follow at South Point Cemetery near Orrick.
