James Dean Davis, 50, of Orrick, MO, passed away Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at his home in Orrick. James was born on September 8, 1970 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Randall J. Davis and JoEllen Davis. James moved with his family to Orrick in 1978 and attended school at Orrick.
He was currently employed in the produce department at Harp’s Grocery Store in Richmond, MO.
James was an excellent drummer and guitarist. He loved music and playing in local bands and had played in the band called Evolution, as well as some other bands. He enjoyed attending concerts, reading and watching TV. James had a German shepherd and husky mixed dog named Bubba that he dearly loved. The two had a special bond and spent lots of enjoyable times together until Bubba died a couple years ago.
James was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, James R. Davis and Joyce, and his maternal grandparents, Robert and Mickey Floerchinger and Bill and Shirley Ross. He was also preceded by an uncle, John Ross.
Survivors include his father, Randall J. Davis of Orrick, MO; his mother, JoEllen Davis of Excelsior Springs, MO; uncles, Mike Floerchinger and Rick Floerchinger, both of Cedar Rapids, IA; aunts, Candace Allen (Chuck) of Mt. Vernon, IA, and Debra Evanoff of Iowa; cousins, Tracey Allen of Springville, IA, Travis Allen of Lisbon, IA, and Trenay Hart of Billings, MT. He is also survived by a special friend, Elizabeth Mellinger of Harrisonville, MO.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 29, 2021 at Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick. Funeral services will immediately follow at 7:30 p.m., also at the funeral home. James will be cremated following services.
Mask are required to attend visitation and services.
