Franklin Roosevelt Eldredge

August 7, 1936 – August 16, 2012

Franklin Roosevelt Eldredge, 76, died at his home lovingly surrounded by his children and numerous family members on August 16, 2012. He was born August 7, 1936 in Hutchinson, Kans., to Ruth Harris and Henry P. Eldredge. He was preceded in death by his parents and his second wife, Lillian.

Mr. Eldredge was a veteran of the Korean War and proudly retired from Ford Motor Company, Claycomo Plant, member of UAW Local 249 after 37 years of service. He enjoyed trap shooting, fishing, hunting and boating for many years prior to his illness.

He is survived by his sister, Helen Gilmore; two brothers, Jack and Dale Mark Eldredge; five children, Frank and Terri Eldredge, Francine and Hershall Gray, Sharon and Mick Yarges, Mark and Lee Ann Eldredge, and Henry and Ellona Eldredge. Additional surviving family members include his 10 grandchildren, Chris, Travis and Tristan Eldredge, Andrea, Katy and Michael Gray, Sarah and Ian Yarges, Jennifer Wilmes, Kimberly Eldredge and several of their spouses; three stepchildren, Michael Waddell, Sheila Wright and Sharon Williams; great-grandchildren, Caden Lopez, Kaylee and Tyler Wilmes, Drake Breshears, and James, Faith and Jenna Eldredge; step-grandchildren, Chris, Danielle, Dustyn, Christian, Leah, Andy, Jolene, Joshua and Michael; and step great-grandchildren, Adrian, Jacob, Isabella, Lilian, David, Peter, Carly and Wyatt; and also long-time friends and family members, Ed and Beth Hughes.

Visitation services will be held on Monday, August 20 at Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick, Mo., from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 21 at 10 a.m. at Gowing Funeral Home, followed by burial at Hillcrest Cemetery in Excelsior Springs, Mo. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to NorthCare Hospice and Hospice House.
