October 6, 1929 – May 9, 2010
Dinelia Dean Riggs, 80, of Kansas City North, Mo., and formerly of Richmond, Mo., passed away on Sunday, May 9, 2010 at North Kansas City Hospital.
Dinelia was born October 6, 1929 in Richmond, Mo., to Robert and Eunice Cox. She graduated from Richmond High School as Salutatorian in 1947. She worked for the JC Penney Co. in Richmond and later retired from the Social Security Administration as a Benefit Authorization Technical Assistant. Dinelia is survived by her husband of 52 years, Lucian LaVerre Riggs, her daughter, Lucie Riggs Crocker and husband, Jim Crocker, and her granddaughter, Amanda Dean Riggs.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Cox and Eunice Swafford Cox.
Dinelia was a devoted and caring wife, mother and grandmother.
She loved to sew, do needlework and especially enjoyed spending time and traveling with her family. Her sweet smile and loving ways will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2010 with funeral services at 2 p.m. at the Old New Garden Church one mile south of State Highway 10 on State Highway O near East Excelsior Springs, Mo.
