April 19, 1958 ~ October 20, 2020

David Lawrence Allen, 62, of Houston Lake, Mo., passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2020, at North Kansas City Hospital.

David was born on April 19, 1958, in Menomonie, Wisconsin, to Lawrence Allen and Donna Jean (McIntyre) Allen. David spent his early life in Wisconsin before moving to the Kansas City area in 1978. He was united in marriage to Rachelle Eileen Bates on May 29, 1982.

After moving to Kansas City, he had worked for Braniff Airlines, Hallmark Cards, and BCD Travel.

He enjoyed the outdoors; camping, hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and long walks in the rain. He was a family man who loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

David was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence Allen.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Rachelle Eileen Allen of the home; three sons, David Allen Jr., Robert Allen, and Eric Allen, all of Kansas City, Mo.; a daughter, Cassandra Cambern, and husband, Matt Cambern of Kansas City, Mo.; his mother, Donna Jean Hom; brother, Dean Allen; sisters, Debbie East, Dian York and Denise Golata. He is also survived by his six precious grandchildren, Courtney, Kylee, Brianna, Brayden, Braxton and Bernyce.

The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2020, at the Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick, Mo. Funeral services will follow at noon, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Dean Allen officiating. Burial will follow in South Point Cemetery near Orrick.

Pallbearers will be Eric Allen, Robert Allen, David Allen Jr., Shane Gerhardt, Jesse Gerhardt and Matt Cambern.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the David Allen Memorial Fund and made payable to Rachelle Allen.

No words can express how I feel for the entire family. David was a strong, loving and kind man and he will always be close in our hearts and his memories will be with us all as we grieve.
