Barbara Hoyle, 79, of rural Orrick, MO, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021, at the North Kansas City Hospital. Barbara was born on May 25, 1942, in Kansas City, MO, to Luther Norman Teeter and Oda Mae (Watkins) Teeter. She lived most of her life in the Kansas City and Orrick areas. Barbara was united in marriage on June 13, 1959, to John M. Hoyle and together they lived near Orrick on their farm until his passing on April 2, 2019.

Barbara attended the Richmond Assembly of God church in Richmond, MO. Barbara loved her family and being a mother and grandmother. She loved Thanksgiving, as it was her favorite holiday. She also loved her cats and animals, gardening and tending to her flowers. She liked to embroidery and make quilts, and she loved traveling with her husband on road trips they would take. She enjoyed talking about her childhood and remembering those special things about growing up. She also liked doing genealogy research.

She was preceded in death by two infant sisters, Dorothy and Mary Jane; her parents; her husband, John M. Hoyle; a brother, Norman Teeter; and a sister, Maudie Wiser.

Barbara is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joan L. Barton (Glen) of Orrick, MO; two sons and daughters-in-laws, John W. Hoyle (Jean) of Orrick, MO, and Scott L. Hoyle (Kim) of Jesup, GA; a sister, Nancy Schoonover of Altamont, MO; and brothers, Thom Teeter, of Kansas City, MO, Russell Teeter of Bankston, AL, Eric Teeter of Kansas City, MO, and Rufus Teeter of Stewartsville, MO; her grandchildren, Serenity Tarr, Jennifer Martin, Jeffrey Williams, John Philip Hoyle, Whitney Wartenbee, Justin Hoyle, Amanda Smith, and Amy Gardner; great grandchildren, Landon, Laura, Kennedy, Jadelynn, Noah, Jaycee, Tucker, Isaiah, Leighton, Karlee, Gabriel, Jonah, Paisley, Abby and Emersyn.

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at South Point Cemetery near Orrick, with Rev. John Selleck officiating.
