Vickie Jean Mackey, 61, of Lowry City, Mo., formerly of Richmond, Mo., passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Shirkey Nursing and Rehab Center in Richmond.
Vickie was born on July 3, 1955 in Richmond to Lawrence Nelson White and Betty Jean (Yallaly) White. She had lived much of her life in Richmond and Ray County before moving to Lowry City in 2010. Vickie was a business administrative assistant at Metropolitan Community College in Kansas City, Mo., for 16 years and retired in 2010.
Vickie loved planting flowers and gardening, she enjoyed reading and liked to make home made lotions. She loved animals and especially loved her dogs.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jean Gowing on February 21, 2010 and her stepfather, Sammy Lee Gowing, on August 20, 2013.
Survivors include her father, Lawrence Nelson White of Richmond, Mo.; four sons, Ronnie Nelson Bartley of Kansas City, Mo., Nathan Preston Bartley of Camden, Mo., Landon Chase Bartley and Joshua Ryan Bartley, both of Rayville, Mo.; a brother, David Lawrence White (Julie) of Richmond, Mo., and a sister, Samantha Johnson (Bob) of Liberty, Mo.; five grandchildren; two nephews and two nieces; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Visitation for the family will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at the Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick, Mo. Graveside services will be at 12 noon on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Richmond Memory Gardens, Richmond, Mo.
