Marilyn M. Bellis

November 29, 1933 – March 26, 2015

Marilyn M. Bellis, 81, of Orrick, passed away at 3:36 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Shirkey Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Richmond.

Marilyn was born on November 29, 1933 in Orrick, Mo., to Ronald E. Broadhurst and Gertie Sheetz (Lee) Broadhurst. She was a lifelong resident of Ray County, having lived most of her life in the Orrick community. She attended school in Orrick and graduated from Orrick High School. On October 9, 1950 she was united in marriage to Noble William Bellis. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2005. Marilyn was a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother. Her favorite thing to do was taking care of her husband, Bill. She was very involved with her family and especially enjoyed family gatherings and celebrations whereby she got to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marilyn was a long time member of the Orrick Baptist Church.

Preceding Marilyn in death was her parents, her husband, Noble William “Bill” Bellis, and a son, Stanley K. Bellis on August 12, 2004.

Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Dennis Hisle of Orrick, Mo.; grandsons, Noble (Rachelle) Bellis of Broken Arrow, Okla., and Shane Bellis of Chester, Va.; granddaughters, Amy (Brian) Houston of Owasso, Okla., Mandy (Heath) Floyd of Orrick, Mo., and Erin (Nathan) Mulch of Liberty, Mo. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren, Tatum Floyd, Parker Floyd, Brody Mulch, Corbin Mulch, Heather Houston, Brooke Houston, and Logan Bellis.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 30, 2015 at the Gowing Funeral Home in Orrick. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 31 at Gowing Funeral Home, with Chaplain Bill Purcell officiating. Burial will be in South Point Cemetery, Orrick, Mo.

Memorials in memory of Marilyn may be given to Shirkey Hospice and Pallative Care, 804 Wollard Blvd., Richmond, MO 64085.
