Kenneth Randell Light, 81, of Orrick, Mo., died May 30, 2017 at his home.
Kenneth was born on November 24, 1935 in Laclede County, Mo., to Clarence Randell Light and Opal Alice (Cope) Light. He was united in marriage to Wilma Jean Oliphant in Hartville, Mo., on July 20, 1956. He had lived in Kansas City North before moving to Orrick in 1969. Kenneth had worked as a millright for Procter & Gamble in Kansas City, Kans., from 1957 until his retirement in 1992. He was a member of the Orrick Baptist Church and was an ordained deacon at the church, having been ordained on February 24, 1974. Kenneth loved to fish and hunt and enjoyed time spent with his family and especially spending time with his grandchildren and great granddaughter.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Candye Light and Sandra Light; and a brother, Clarence Lorraine Light.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wilma Jean Light of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Michelle Culler (John) of Kansas City, Kans.; sisters, Veta Berry (Bill) of Kansas City, Kans., and Jannette Light of Springfield, Mo.; brother, Wayne Light (Debbie) of Parkville, Mo.; grandchildren, Christa Phillips (Lonney), Joshua Teegarden (Danielle), and Kurt Culler; great granddaughter, Brooke Phillilps; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 1, 2017 at the Orrick Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 2, 2017 at 10 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in South Point Cemetery, Orrick, Mo.
Memorials suggested to St. Judes Childrens Hospital.
